Hypothesis of Jelly Project: During the process of congealing, jelly, the fictional super-medium, preserves the given time and space it occupies. It also records information occurring in the space such as light, sound, scents, thoughts and emotions that vibrate nearby. Each jelly is a brick of universe; by placing them together, the past is connected, and space overlaps. The Process of Jelly Making: Each jelly was made before a photograph was taken. The jelly sat on the tripod for 20 minutes to congeal and then the camera replaced the jelly for picture taking. During the 20 minutes of congealment, a note with anything that happened in my mind was taken. Therefore each process of jelly making produced three products: the jelly, the photograph and the note. The Artist’s Room: My apartment is on the eighth floor of a high rise building in downtown Montreal. It is a “3 ½”, which includes one bedroom, one living room, one bathroom and one kitchen. There are two windows facing to the east and the north. I have lived here for six years, and I am about to move.
