The Grey Nuns Mother House: We were invited by Martha Langford to visit the Grey Nuns Mother House and to create a work for a group show at the FOFA Gallery. After the first visit, I went by the Grey Nuns several times. I didn't go inside. Instead, I walked around, and I take pictures without plans. A few months later, I went back to the Grey Nuns Mother House. I decided to make jelly there. I made jelly at different spots at the Grey Nuns Mother house, then, I mixed them and put two spoons of jellies on a table in the room by the chapel. For me, making jellies is like sealing certain time and space. By mixing them together and by presenting them, it triggers a personal way to rethink the history and the space of the Grey Nuns Mother House. |
